ANSUL R-102 Restaurant Fire Suppression System Europe Organic

Certified, world-class protection

Trusted by the world’s largest restaurant operators, the R-102 has consistently proven its rapid-response reliability in real-world scenarios to perform effectively when needed most. Combined with the power of a global distribution and support network, ANSUL R-102 is simply the only name to know in restaurant fire suppression, protecting:

  • Cooking equipment such as fryers, griddles, range tops, broilers, char-broilers and woks
  • Areas associated with ventilating equipment, including hoods, ducts, plenums and filters
  • Auxiliary grease extraction equipment

BSI Certified to the EN 17446 standard

Not all restaurant fire suppression systems are created equal, nor are they tested to the same standards. The EN 17446 standard defines stringent criteria for fire suppression in Europe, encompassing a wide range of safety measures designed to protect both life and property.

To receive the EN 17446 certification, R-102 underwent a unified, multiple-phase process in which its fire-suppressing technology was tested on numerous grease-vapour-producing appliances – adding to its already impressive list of top industry recognitions for safety and compliance. How to check for EN 17446 certification

Specifying for R-102 enhances safety and instills trust across kitchen operations. Follow these simple steps to check if the restaurant fire suppression system you’ve chosen has been independently tested to the EN 17746 standard.

  1. Look for an EN 17446-certified manual to make sure the design for each appliance is listed
  2. Check that the system is also EN 16282-7 compliant
  3. Access the certifying body’s website for the latest updates – certificates should be publicly available and accessible

Extremely effective agent

ANSULEX low pH liquid agent quickly suppresses grease fires, minimizes re-flash and cleans up easily with soap and water while being non-toxic and gentle on surfaces.

Cartridge-operated reliability

A separate propellant cartridge ensures rapid discharge – even in challenging conditions – for greater reliability, performance and lower risk of leakage compared to stored pressure systems.

Global distribution and support network

The R-102 is backed by one of the largest networks of distributors in the industry, with qualified and trained technicians who respond quickly to get a system back online.

World-class fire suppression testing

The system meets stringent standards and approvals, including UL 300, NFPA 96 and NFPA 17A, as well as EN 17446 and EN 16282-7 – while complying with AHJ local requirements.

Flexible design options

Choose from an appliance-specific design or overlapping layout that creates a continuous zone of protection for a group of appliances better suited to ever-adapting kitchens.

Fusible link temperature options

Temperature-rated fusible links activate over specific heat thresholds for precision actuation while reducing the risk of delayed response or false actuation.

Extinguishing Test of Deep Fat Fryer EN 17446: Section 7.2.2

The EN 17446 standard sets forth stringent criteria for kitchen fire extinguishing systems, encompassing a wide range of safety measures designed to protect both life and property. To become an EN 17446 approved kitchen extinguishing system, R-102 underwent a unified, multiple-phase process in which its fire-extinguishing capability was vigorously tested on numerous grease-vapour-producing appliances.

Extinguishing Test of Range Top (Frying Pan) EN 17446: Section 7.2.4

To pass the range test, R-102 had to extinguish the flames and not allow re-ignition of the grease for 20 minutes.
