Webinar 2

Protecting Assets - Comprehensive Water-Based Fire Suppression Solutions for Data Centers

April 30, 2025
10-11AM EDT [3-4PM BST | 4-5PM CEST]

The second webinar in this series will focus on water-based solutions for fire protection in Data Centers. Traditional preaction sprinkler systems and advanced water mist systems are two key fire suppression methods used in data centers.

Sprinkler systems provide broad water coverage and are typically used as a last resort to control large fires. Preaction systems mitigate the risk of accidental water discharge on sensitive equipment. Water mist systems use fine water droplets to suppress fires effectively while minimizing water damage to sensitive electronics.

We will compare these systems, highlighting their benefits, challenges, and best practices for integrating them into a comprehensive fire protection strategy for data centers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand Fire Risks and Suppression Methods – Identify common fire hazards in data centers and explain how preaction sprinkler and water mist systems function to mitigate these risks
  • Compare System Advantages and Limitations – Evaluate the differences between traditional preaction sprinkler systems and water mist systems in terms of effectiveness, water usage, and impact on IT equipment
  • Implement Best Practices for Fire Protection – Learn how to select and integrate an optimal fire suppression system that balances safety, compliance, and minimal disruption to data center operations
