Protecting Assets - Gaseous Fire Extinguishing Solutions for Data Centers

May 14, 2025
10-11AM EDT [3-4PM BST | 4-5PM CEST]

The third webinar in this series will focus on gaseous based fire extinguishing systems in Data Centers. Gaseous systems are sometimes used instead of sprinkler systems, to provide fire protection removing the risk of water damage.

Gaseous systems can sometimes be used as a layer of defense, in addition to a sprinkler system. We will compare the system objectives, highlighting their benefits, challenges, and best practices for integrating them into a comprehensive fire protection strategy for data centers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the fundamental differences between fire control, suppression and extinguishing and how they have evolved – Identify key aspects a stakeholder group needs to consider when choosing a fire protection measure and determining the site’s fire strategy
  • Compare System Advantages and Limitations – Evaluate the differences between halocarbon and inert gases and how they are best used to protect operational IT equipment
  • Implement Best Practices for Fire Protection – Learn how to select and integrate a gaseous system into the sitewide fire strategy that balances safety, compliance, and minimal disruption to data center operations, with certainty of fire protection
